Most of us love where we live, whether it’s a town, city or remote village. After all it’s where we come from – it’s our roots. We’ve been through a lot together and we think you can be rightly proud of your local community, its tenacity and resilience. We want our #LoveWhereULive!competition to put a smile on every town, village and city’s face –make them blush when they hear us all say, “We live here and we love it!”. Here’s how you can enter.


Anyone living in the UK can enter our exciting competition to win a chance to star in the next exciting Rainbow Rising video. The script, the story –everything for the video will be created especially around you. So, if you think you have what it takes to be a star, read on. It’s easy to enter our competition. The challenge is not so simple. We want your help to convince our local councils to lift our communities’ spirits by changing the welcome signs in every village, town and city to reflect how much we all love where we live. This is a big ask, so we’re going to need something very special from you to persuade them. We would like you to create an imaginative new description and design for the welcome sign for your hometown. You can use up to three positive words that sum up how you feel about the great place where you live. For example, our new sign could say “Welcome to…”

The prizes are original as the competition: First Prize is the chance to star in our next exciting Rainbow Rising video, plus up to 10 runner-up prizes of Rainbow Rising T-shirts. What will your idea be for your hometown? GOOD LUCK!

Local Competition Rules and Important Information

1.This is a competition involving skill and judgement. It is not a free prize draw. 

2.This competition is open to all anyone living in the UK. 

3.You can enter this competition as many times as you like. Each entry must be accompanied by a completed entry form using the pdf below.

4.The winner of the first prize will be given the opportunity to appear in a Rainbow Rising video up to 30 seconds in length. If the winner is under 18 years of age the prize will be subject to parent, guardian and school consent. The winner and or their parents/guardians will see the proposed script before Rainbow Rising proceed. Date of filming to be confirmed later. All regulations governing filming and appearance of adults and minors on video will be strictly observed in accordance with UK legislation.

5.There will also be up to 10 runner-up prizes of Rainbow Rising T-shirts.

6.Employees and agents of Rainbow Rising, ASTOP Limited and TUAid or their close family members are not permitted to enter the competition.

7.There is no entry fee and no purchase is necessary to enter this competition. 

8.The closing date for this competition is Thursday 30 June 2022. After this date, no further entries to the competition will be permitted.

9.Unfortunately, no entries can be returned to entrants. 

10.No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.

11.Rainbow Rising is the promoter and reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice.

12.No cash alternative to prizes will be offered. The prize is not transferable. Rainbow Rising reserves the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.

13.The winner will be contacted via either email and/or post and/or telephone number using the details provided on the entry form by Monday 18th July 2022. If the winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within 7 days of notification, Rainbow Rising reserves the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and   decision in respect of all matters to do with this competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

15.By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating their full agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.

16.The winner agrees to the use of their name in any publicity material. Any personal data relating to the winner,or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current [UK] data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent.
